This enhancement allows you to open up to thirteen journal files at one time. It also improves the journal restore utility so that journal entries replay in the correct order and the restore process is quicker.
With Version 6.10 you can restore journals to privately mounted and cluster-mounted databases simultaneously. This feature makes restoring multiple journal files more manageable.
The console messages during recovery now offer more detailed information. This improvement makes it easier for you to follow the progress of the recovery process.
It is now possible to identify selected M processes as being "batch-like'' and prevent such processes from monopolizing the global buffer pool.
The specified percentage of reserved global buffers may vary from 0 to 95. The ISM system guarantees that a minimum of one global buffer is left unreserved so that batch-like processes can always utilize at least one buffer.
The Release Information which comes with ISM for OpenVMS VAX 6.10 describes all of the above features in greater detail. It also consolidates information for all releases since the most current edition of the Open M/SQL VAX System Guide, which supports Version 6.1.
